When the autoguiding system is powered on, a mobile telephony antenna (GPRS) transmits the position of the tractor to a central computer server. This first location allows the server to identify the user’s work area using the six nearest reference stations. It then calculates a correction corresponding to the field worked, and then adapts it according to the tractor’s movement within the network. This correction can be retransmitted by different modes, the main one being GPRS. The main operators having an obligation of result throughout the French territory.
The autoguiding of the tractors is nothing without a good positioning of the vehicle. The use of the RTK system is intended to correct the satellite signal used for the tractor’s autoguiding, enabling it to perform a work with a repeatable, stable and homogeneous 2 cm accuracy.
